The agricultural industry offers numerous business opportunities, and one notable aspect is the substantial market demand for all its products. Feeder cattle production is a significant contributor to this thriving and profitable sector. Notably, Carl D. Fredsti and Christine M. Fredsti, a cattle producer enterprise, have chosen the “retained ownership” feeder cattle cycle, which entails raising cattle from feedlots to packers.

Carl D. Fredsti and Christine M. Fredsti will procure feeder cattle that are of the same breed, comparable in body condition and weight, and “homed” for at least ten days but not less than five days prior to sale.

These feeder cattle shall be procured from either a ranch or auction barn through an Order Buyer. These will be steers and/or heifers with the desired breed being Black Angus, Hereford, or Black Baldy (with a minimum black hide percentage of 51%), F1 Angus-sired and Hereford-damned, or Red Angus. 

As a beef cattle producer, we will implement a comprehensive “life cycle assessment” (LCA) to evaluate the entire cattle lifecycle from pasture to plate. This comprehensive evaluation will establish benchmarks on the economic, environmental, and social contributions of the cattle industry in the United States. It will serve as a roadmap for our journey toward more sustainable beef production. Additionally, we will adopt Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) protocols, an industry-developed program that provides cattle producers with the latest cattle management techniques and other industry-led animal handling programs. These initiatives will substantially enhance our social sustainability.
