Fredsti, a cattle producer enterprise, aims to establish itself as a producer of high-quality feeder cattle through the implementation of nutritional management and conservation practices. By achieving this goal, they seek to produce market-weight beef at the finishing phase that meets the highest quality standards.
OUR PROCUREMENT YARDSTICK –
Black Angus or Hereford or Black Baldy [≥ 51% black hide – F1 Angus sired/Hereford dam] or Red Angus.
Feeder cattle ranchers and their veterinarians are required to submit verification (traceability) documentation pertaining to the genetic makeup and preconditioning of their cattle.
100 [minimum] head as follows:
- Choice Steers – 2 series of vaccines, weaned, feed bunk and water trough trained, and dehorned or horns not protruding beyond ear length
- Choice Heifer – open … but not in late/last trimester, with 2 series of vaccines, weaned, feed bunk and water trough trained, and dehorned or horns not protruding beyond ear length
- A feeder shall have been “home” for a period of ten (10) days, but not less than five (5) days prior to its sale. This period can be either at a ranch direct sale or prior to placement in an auction barn
Livestock Not Fed Animal Protein
Feeder Cattle Rancherr shall verify that no animal has been fed any feed or supplement containing protein derived from mammalian tissues [ruminant meat and bone meal] as defined in 21 CFR 589.2000 … Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act.
Transporting Livestock
Animal transportation adheres to the established BQA protocol.






Procuring feeder cattle (yearling) from ranches and auction barns
What is the purpose
The primary objective of our cattle producer enterprise is to acquire feeder cattle of high-quality steers and heifers of the same breed, with comparable body condition and weight.
Where are yearlings obtain
The feeder cattle are obtained from either a ranch or auction barn through our Order Buyer.
What are the specifications for the feeder cattle?
The feeder cattle are steers and/or heifers – Black Angus or Hereford or Black Baldy [≥ 51% black hide] – F1 Angus sired/Hereford dam or Red Angus, weighing 600 to 750 lbs –
How long are the cattle ‘homed’ before
The cattle are ‘homed’ for ten days but not less than five days prior to shipping.
