
Gathering of Feeder Cattle
Purpose – To address the occasional challenges associated with acquiring a herd of 100 feeder cattle from a single source and delivering them to a feedlot, we are seeking an alliance with a rancher. This alliance will facilitate the procurement of our order buyer from small lots to a feedlot herd through either a drylot / sacrifice area lease agreement or a pasture (paddock) lease agreement for a period of two thirty-day periods within a calendar year.

- Livestock Health – To assure the health of facility the livestock purchased shall have been a) dewormed twice – with last 1 to 2 months prior to weaning, b) vaccinated (e.g., five-way modified-live virus (mlv) vaccine, mannheimia haemolytica and/or pasteurella multocida) – sign affidavit, c) weaned 45 day (or longer), d) dehorned or horns do not protrude beyond ear length, e) feeding practices record (pasture or supplement feed [drought condition]), f) bunk (feed) broke, g) water trough (tank) broke, g) age-verification, and h) animal handling (BQA–certified) record..

- Feeder cattle placed on pasture are to receive additional feed beyond their primary grazing needs. This feed should be the primary source of nutrition, supplemented with 1% of the animal’s body weight in a high-quality feed (approximately 12-15% protein, minerals, salt, and vitamins).
